More and more people are choosing a life without bread or with a limited amount of bread.
If you are dealing with celiac disease or have a serious gluten allergy, you have to completely avoid gluten, otherwise it can severely impact your health. Perhaps you only have a mild sensitivity or after reading Grain Brain or Wheat Belly, you’ve realized that eating gluten and wheat may lead to inflammation and other health issues.
Either way, you can still eat bread using gluten-free flour.
However, making your own GF-free bread can be tricky and time-consuming and most store-bought alternatives are highly processed and unhealthy.
The good news is that you can make sandwiches without using bread!
You can use lettuce, kale and collard green as wraps or bell peppers, cucumber, zucchini, grilled eggplant and portabella mushroom as sandwich ‘bread’ or a bun. It is always the best to stuff them with healthy, organic and plant-based ingredients, but you can always use your favorite grass-fed meat too if your heart so desires to.
The best part about using breadless ‘bread’ is that you can get incredibly creative.
Try our three favorite bread-less sandwiches. They are so good, even your bread-loving dad will love them.
